Parlor Art Gallery

Less than a mile from Ocean Grove is Parlor Art Gallery. This inspirational space has showcased the best of New Jersey’s art community since 2009. Plus, it’s not stuffy or pretentious; the work is on par with galleries in San Francisco and New York City. Feel free to view innovative pieces from emerging and established artists. Or, attend one of the many gallery events offered throughout the year.

Exhibit No. 9

Whether you’re interested in paint, mixed media, digital media, or photography, Exhibit No. 9 has something to pique your interest. The gallery focuses on large-scale works created by artists from across the globe. Most pieces are available for purchase, and there are plenty of interesting events to attend. We recommend experiencing an exhibition or artist talk.

Visits to Exhibit No. 9 are available by appointment only. Be sure to call ahead!

Art629

Art629 is dedicated to the exhibition of fine contemporary art. Here, you’ll find one-of-a-kind works that may be considered “controversial” or “outsider” by other galleries. Art629 welcomes these pieces and provides a platform for artists who think outside the box. Gallery hours vary, so call ahead for information.

La Salle Gallery

Another must-see gallery belongs to Tony La Salle, an acclaimed painter from Pennsylvania. Using acrylic on canvas, he creates stylized portraits, abstract images, faraway landscapes, and massive, colorful flowers. You can admire his work on Fridays from 1 to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Hot Sand

Rounding out our list of fantastic Asbury Park art galleries is Hot Sand. This glassblowing studio was established in 2007 and was the first of its kind in New Jersey. Today, the studio sells pre-made pieces for purchase and offers workshops and kids activities. If you want to create your own piece, the gallery’s artists are happy to guide you in a 15 to 30-minute introductory glassblowing class.
