Strike Up a Good Time at Asbury Lanes

A rainy day at the Jersey Shore calls for some indoor fun, and Asbury Lanes is the perfect destination! This entertainment venue has been a New Jersey staple for over 50 years. When it shut down in October of 2015, many wondered, “Why did Asbury Lanes close?” The building was in desperate need of repair; after two years of extensive renovations, it’s bigger and better than ever. Top 3 Things to Do at Asbury Lanes

1. Bowl

Asbury Lanes’ grand reopening in 2018 revealed a world-class sound system, delicious food, and, of course, brand new bowling lanes. Brunswick Bowling created a custom, back-to-the-future pin-setting system exclusively for the facility. Both league and individual play are available, and you can attend a variety of events throughout the year (like the Blue Hair Bowl for guests ages 55 and over). Bowling is $20 per half hour and $5 for shoes.

2. Catch a Show

Asbury Park is famous for its live music scene, and Asbury Lanes is no exception. The grand reopening featured local icon Bruce Springsteen alongside Grammy-winning rock band Portugal. The Man. Best of all, the new setup can hold over 700 people without compromising the venue’s intimate feel. Asbury Lanes presents top-notch musical talent weekly; check the events page for a full list of upcoming shows.

Note: Bowling lanes are closed during specific performances.

3. Dine

The best part about visiting Asbury Lanes is that everything you need is right in one place. When your stomach starts to rumble, head to the retro-inspired diner for menu classics like burgers, milkshakes, waffles, and meatloaf. Diner hours are 7 a.m. to 12 a.m. Monday through Friday and 24/7 on weekends. Asbury Lanes also has two main bars with TVs if you’re in the mood to watch a game and enjoy a libation.
