Note: The annual 4th of July fireworks in Asbury Park kick off at dusk (about 9 p.m.) on the Second and Fourth Avenue beaches. Parking is scarce; we recommend leaving your car in Ocean Grove and taking the short, easy walk to Asbury Park.

You don’t have to wait until the fireworks start to have fun! Drive to the shore a few days early and experience the excitement of the Asbury Park Boardwalk. There’s plenty to do, and like Asbury’s 4th of July celebration, the boardwalk has a longstanding history at the Jersey Shore.
