They are also the stars of Asbury Park Oysterfest, a three-day culinary event that rocks the Jersey Shore each September. Asbury’s signature fall festival draws over 20,000 visitors from New Jersey, New York City, and Philadelphia. Read on to see what all the hype is about!

Food & Drink

Get ready for a shucking good time! At the Asbury Park Oysterfest, seafood lovers can indulge in crab cakes, shrimp kebabs, oyster dishes, and more. Not a fan of fish? There’s no need to worry; other culinary delights are available. Try everything from gourmet barbecue to South American fare at the festival’s 20+ vendors. Some of our favorites include Louie Linguine’s Food Truck, The Tiger’s Tale, and Dainty Donuts.

Local Tip: The Jersey Shore is still warm in September! Stay hydrated with a refreshing beverage at the festival. Beer, wine, water, and soft drinks are available for purchase.

Family-Friendly Activities

In addition to excellent food, Oysterfest is famous for its live music. Dozens of bands play over the course of the weekend and offer musical styles to suit every taste. Spend some time watching the performances. Then, check out the slew of craft vendor booths. You can purchase one-of-a-kind items made by local artists and connect with members of the community.

If the kids are too antsy to shop, set them free! Asbury Park Oysterfest has rides and games for children of all ages. Little ones love exploring the area and meeting magicians, clowns, face painters, and other entertainers. Don’t forget to bring your camera!

Admission & Hours

Oysterfest takes place in Bradley Park in front of the Convention Hall. (Be sure to check out the Asbury Oyster Bar while you’re in the area!) The event is usually held the weekend after Labor Day. Admission is $3, and children ages six years and younger are free. The hours are as follows:

  • Friday: 5 – 10 p.m.
  • Saturday: 11 a.m. – 10 p.m.
  • Sunday: 11 a.m. – 6 p.m.
