Food & Drink
The Asbury Park St. Patrick’s Day Parade is the perfect place to try delicious food and ice-cold brews from local vendors. Taka, the Stone Pony, and Wonder Bar are just a few bars and restaurants that will be ready for a party!
If Irish food isn’t your preference but you still love delicious cuisine, indulge in traditional Japanese eats at Taka. You’ll find great sashimi, nigiri, and other classics on the menu. Then, head to the Stone Pony or Wonder Bar for a couple of pints. Both of these historic venues offer delicious beverages and a prime location to view the parade.
Events & Participants
Asbury Park’s 2018 St. Patrick’s Day Parade starts promptly at 1 p.m. on the corner of 5th and Ocean Avenues. Antique cars, floats, and marching bands continue down Ocean Avenue to Cookman Avenue before finishing on Main Street. Don’t miss live music on the Lakehouse Music Academy float or the Asbury Lanes float! Local favorite Pat Guadagno makes a debut at the parade this year, and the Stone Pony/Wonder Bar prize-winning float will be back with more live music.
Live entertainment will also be held at the Review Stand in Press Plaza. Keep an eye out for participants like the Devrin Academy of Irish Dance, The Shamrock Circus, and Pipes and Drums of the Jersey Shore Shillelaghs. They’re sure to get you in the Irish spirit!
The fun doesn’t have to end when the parade stops. Check out the Party After Parade, a family-friendly event that gives back to the community. All proceeds are donated to the Asbury Park St. Patrick’s Day Parade to keep the event going for years to come.
