What You’ll See on the Asbury Park Boardwalk

No trip to the Jersey Shore is complete without a stroll on the boardwalk. Asbury Park’s mile-long promenade is an especially popular destination, with its nostalgic feel, family-friendly attractions, and rich history. Though much of it was damaged by Hurricane Sandy in 2012, the Asbury Park Boardwalk has rebuilt itself and is bigger and better than ever. Here are some of the things you’ll find there.

Spend an Afternoon on the Asbury Park Boardwalk

Dining

Did you know that the Asbury Park Boardwalk boasts some of the best restaurants in the area? Whether you’re craving crêpes, ice cream, french fries, or tacos, the dining options here will make your mouth water. Visit Hoagito’s for miniature American hoagies, or check out the south-of-the-border menu at Pop’s Garage. The North Eats Food Truck Court also offers a wide range of scrumptious lunch options. If you’re planning to visit after sunset, we recommend dinner and drinks at the Asbury Oyster Bar, Tim McLoone’s Supper Club, or Langosta Lounge. Click here for a full list of boardwalk eateries.

Shopping

There’s nothing better than a little retail therapy! The Asbury Park Boardwalk offers an eclectic mix of stores and boutiques for your shopping pleasure. One of our favorites is StyleRocket, a one-of-a-kind retailer that sells stylish clothing, art, and home decor. (They even host fashion shows and live music performances!) Big Spoon Little Spoon Naturals, The Sand Castle, and Asbury Galleria are great places to browse as well.

Entertainment

From world-famous nightclubs to skate parks and museums, the Asbury Park Boardwalk has something for everyone. Visitors can catch a concert at The Stone Pony, an iconic music venue that was established in 1974, or at the Convention Hall and the adjacent Paramount Theatre. Each has hosted legendary performances by Bruce Springsteen, Elton John, Frank Sinatra, and the Rolling Stones, just to name a few.

Traveling with children? Plan a trip to the Silverball Museum, Fourth Union Skate Park, or the Asbury Eighteen mini golf course. You can even bring little ones to the Asbury Splash Park. This fun outdoor playground has padded floors and numerous water sprinklers, so the kids can cool off without having to go on the beach.
